John moved to Newton, NH in 1713. He was a millwright..owned and operated a water powered mill used to cut lumber, grind grain and weave cloth. A devoted Quaker. After his marriage the lived in a house built by his father in Newton, NH and located near the Peaslee Mills. He and his wife had 9 children.

John b. 25 Feb 1678/79 Haverhill, MA s/o Dr. Joseph & Ruth Barnard; Dr. Joseph b. 9 Sep 1646 Haverhill, MA s/o Joseph & Mary Johnson Peaslee; Joseph b. abt 1600 England.( Cutter's Genealogy of Western NY, reserach of Mrs. George Daggett, Peaslees of Haverhill, Old Families of Salisbury & Amesbury, Volume I.)

John married Mary Martin, daughter of John Martin and Mary Weed, in May 1705 in Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.
