Galvin, 89, of Washington Avenue, Extension, died Saturday, February 5, 2000 at St. Peter's Hospice, after a long illness. Born in Albany, she worked in the former A&P Bakery in Albany for many years, before retiring. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Her husband John F. Galvin died in 1973. Survivors include a son, Peter J. Galvin of Latham; brother Russell Rapp of NC; 11 grandchildren, Linda Gauvin of Schenectady, Nancy Florio of Summit, Peter Galvin, Jr. of Guilderland, John Galvin of Schenectady, Michael Galvin of Rensselaer, Mary LaMay of Albany, Susan Impellizzeri, James Galvin, both of Schenectady, George Galvin of Guilderland, William Galvin of Schenectady and Charles Galvin of Esperance; also survived by 27 great-grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren. Services are going to be Tuesday 9:30 a.m. at the Bond Funeral Home, Schenectady, followed at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Schenectady, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Community Hospice, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.

Sylvia married John Francis Galvin, son of John Paul Galvin and Agnes Cecilia LaRoche. (John Francis Galvin was born on 23 Dec 1909, died in Feb 1973 in Albany, Albany County, New York and was buried on 10 Feb 1973 in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Albany, NY.)
