Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Oct 7 1999 - Warren Dale Danforth, son of Ned and Mary Wilma Burt Danforth, was born May 13, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska, and died Wednesday, September 29, 1999, at V.A. Medical Center, Kansas City. Dale was saved and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at six years of age. He graduated from Jefferson City high school. He served in the United States Army in Occupied Germany, achieving the rank of SP3. He married Barbara Ann Barker on November 28, 1957, in Clinton. He was a Teamster for 30 years and worked for Associated Wholesale Grocers for 25 of those years, retiring in October of 1993. He was a member of the Brownington Baptist Church, the VFW Post 1894 in Clinton and the American Legion in Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Raymond Dean Danforth and Warren Dale Danforth, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; his six children, Deanne Evans of Lee's Summit, Rodger and Stephanie Danforth of Harrisonville, Rhonda and Steven Boyer of Florissant, Mary and Randall Reed of Odessa, Rebecca Tripp of Sedalia, and Marcie Danforth of the home; one brother, Arthur Danforth of Clinton, as well as 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by aunts, Bernice Straw of Parsons, Kansas, Vivian Manuel of Tightwad, and Persis and Bernard Beldin of Walnut Creek, California; three uncles, Orbin and Glee Merril Burt of Blue Springs, Melvin and Hazel Burt of Fair Play, and Gordon and Eleanor Burt of Kansas City, as well as a number of cousins and other friends. Funeral services were held at the Brownington Baptist Church on Saturday, October 2, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Alan Anzalone officiating. Pallbearers were Gary Gregory, Bert Hurst, Jr., Michael Gregory, Trent Gregory, Thomas Ephland and Kevin Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Don Gregory, Ronald Burt, Wilbur Webber and Harold Burt. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington, under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral home of Clinton.
