Retired Deunquat Farmer Dies In Hospital; Rites Tuesday
Harvey Daniel Walter, 74, of near Deunquat, passed away in Wyandot Memorial hospital Saturday morning at 10:40. Death was due to a heart condition. The deceased had been in failing health for six years seriously ill for three days and hospitalized one day. Mr. Walter was born January 6, 1881, in Marion county to Jacob and Paulina (Boehm) Walter. He was married to Emma Christina Margraf April 2, 1902. She survives with the following children: Mrs. Lucille Markley of Nevada; Harold Walter, of Bucyrus; Lloyd Walter, of Sycamore; Dale Walter, of Marion; Mrs. Dorothy Young, of bucyrus; Earl and Clyde Walter, at home and Junior Walter of Deunquat; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mae preceded him in death. Also surviving are three brothers, Ernest Walter, of Wauseon, Ohio; Andrew Walter, of Detroit, Michigan and Emil Walter, of California; and a sister, Mrs. Lillie Merrillat, of Wauseon. The deceased was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge, of Marion. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the E. W. Moore and Sons funeral home in Sycamore, with Rev. William H. Bade, of the Benton Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery, near Upper Sandusky. Friends may call at the funeral home any time.
