"Mrs. Grace K. Fries, 83, of Plattsburg, died Tuesday night, October 2, in an Omaha, Nebr., hospital. She was a retired case worker for the Missouri State Welfare Department.
The former Grace Stubbs, she was born in Mound City and graduated from high school here in 1918.
She and her husband Lawrence Fries, lived in Tarkio for many years and had moved to the Plattsburg area in the 1940s.
Mrs. Fries was a member of the Dennison Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and also by a son, Lawrence Jr., who was killed in World War II.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Marsh, Gladstone, MO, and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Eva) Metzgar, Mound City.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 5, in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Plattsburg."
