bullet  General Notes:

research of P. Robertson on www.rootsweb.com
"Allen Putnam was the first of General Rufus Putnam's party to leap ashore at Marietta, Ohio, from the Mayflower. Two years later, he and his brother-in-law Amos Porter returned to Danvers, Massachusetts, walking all the way, got their families and started back. On account of the Indian War, they remained in western Pennsylvania two years, reaching Marietta again in 1795. They settled in Fearing, an adjoining township to Marietta."
