Mother: Alice Theresa Hyde born 21 April 1854 in Nacogdoches, TX

In 1900 he is living with parents in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas - age 12 years. surname of "Henkes or Hensco"

1910 - can't locate him

On 14 June 1917 he registered for the draft in Carthage, Panola County, Texas. He said he was 29 yrs old with a DOB 25 Sept 1887 in Colmesneil, (Tyler County, Texas) His occupation was: "Collector at L. B. Price Mercantile in Houston, TX. He said he was single but had 1 child 4 years of age. He further stated he had asthma. He described himself as "tall, stout with blue eyes and sandy hair."

In researching I have found that Cooper and Ruby Priest were married c1912 and had a son (Bronson C. Hanks born 1913) It would seem that Ruby must have died between 1913 and 1917. She is not to be found in the census of 1920. Bronson, the son, is found living with his maternal grandparents (Robt and Mary Priest) in 1920 and 1930. The SSDI indicates Bronson died in 1995.
In the meantime Cooper married again to Rubie Moss the d/o Thomas Moss and Evelyn Elizabeth Merridith.Rubie was Mrs. McCook at the time of her marriage to Cooper and had a daughter Elizabeth McCook (born c1916) by her first husband J. B. McCook.

Cooper married Ruby J. Priest, daughter of Robert Warner Priest and Mary (Molly) Hodges, circa 1912 in Marshall County, Texas. (Ruby J. Priest was born in Apr 1889 in Texas and died before 1916.)

Cooper next married Rubie Moss, daughter of Thomas Anderson Moss and Everallin Elizabeth Meredith. (Rubie Moss was born on 13 Nov 1892 in Grant County, Louisiana and died in Jan 1997 in Winfield, Winn County, Louisiana.)
