Culver, Emma (Harriet Emaline, sister to Ellen)
D November 8, 1899 in hospital in Hutchinson, Kan. after an operation for gall stones. (some years later, Mr. Pilcher died and was buried beside Emma and Zenas at Partridge Cemetery).

Married 2nd William Pilcher
Children: Lulia Dilley (m. Clarence Whipple at Fairbury), Edna Dilley (m. Claud Puckett at Horace & Charlotte's (Clark) home north of Fairbury NE), Earl Dilley (m. Ethel Dungan but she died near Bayard NE and then he married a teacher in Kansas)
Went to Nebraska to teach school early 1870's. Husband Zenas killed by lightning 1885 and buried Partridge, Kansas
"Three years later, in 1872, mother and I came to Neb. Horace's folks were living in their new house then. It had three rooms downstairs and one upstairs. On April 1st, 1873, my sister Emma married Zenas Albion Dilley at brother Horace's house in Fairbury Nebraska. They did not live there long until his people came from Ill. and he went with them to Reno County Kansas. Zenas took a homestead and built a frame house. Before it was finished father Dilley had notified the new settlers and as soon as the house was far enough along he preached a sermon. That was the nucleus of the big Congregational church at Partridge Kan. . . . . When they first went there, herds of buffalo came around them. They had three children born in Reno Co., Lulia, Edna, and Earl. Zenas was killed by lightning in 1885 and buried at Partridge Kan. . . . After his death Emma kept a boarding house to support the family. Mother lived with me but when Zenas died Emma wanted her to come and live with her, which she did till she died. After some years of widowhood, she married William Pilcher, a druggist in Partridge. Nov 8, 1899 she died in a hospital at Hutchison Kan. after an operation for gall stones. Some years later Mr. Pilcher died and was buried beside Emma and Zenas at the Partridge Cemetery. . . . Earl married Ethel Dungan. . . . Ethel died near Bayard Nebr. where they lived. After a few years a teacher at Levenworth, or Emperian Kansas. He and Ethel had no children. Earl married ---- Edna married Claud Puckett at Horace and Charlotte's home north of Fairbury Nebr. They left on the evening train next day for St. Louis Exposition. Shortly after Edna was married a week or so, Lulie married Clarence Whipple at Fairbury. They went to Kansas on a farm Lulie bought."
