STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
HUTCHINSON, KAS, June ? - Mr. Zenas Dilley, a prominent farmer of Center township, while riding out home was struck with lightning, and his horse, a thousand dollar animal, was instantly killed, while he was still breathing when found. The body of the horse had lain on him all night. He died soon after he was found. Silver money in his pocket was found melted, while his paper money was unharmed.
Zenas married Harriet Emeline Culver, daughter of Franklin Culver and Hannah Carpenter, 1 APR 1873 in Fairbury, Nebraska (Horace Clark's house). (Harriet Emeline Culver was born in 1854 in Iowa, died on 7 Nov 1899 in Reno, Kansas and was buried in Partridge Cemetery, Kansas.)
