bullet  General Notes:

John & Becky Thurston's Pages - Ancestors of Lelia Waite Oaks -Beriah was a farmer by trade.
Beriah Oak served at the Lexington Alarm 1775, in Captain Longley's company, Colonel Whitcomb, being discharged April 14, after 10 days' service. He also later served, before june 26, and may have been at bunker hill. He was a prosperous man: but died before the age of 40. The income of his estate was left for the support of his aged parent; and the estate was distributed in 1795 after their death. His children and Grand Children were nearly all workers in wood as well as farmers. It was said that an Oaks house could be recognized by the chips and shavings.
