Capt. Clement Moody's grand daughter, Sally/Sarah (Akeley) Burke writes in 1875 personal reflections, with other senior citizens in the Three Score and Ten Society of Stowe,VT. The Historical Society published these accounts."My father Thomas Akeley came from Greenfield, Mass when he was a young man. He died in 1808. Lydia Moody, daughter of Clem Moody, was my Mother. Came from Waterboro, Maine 1794. I always lived with Mother until she died when I was 18 years old."..........."In 1833 I was married to Strong Burke by Daniel Moody, Esq.--no children lived--Mr. Burke was born in Stowe, have lived on this farm 42 years, have lived a widow 5 years last Jany. Nat Moody lives with me--he came to live with us when he was 8 years old--the property was willed to him provided he gave me a good support through life.
