Found in this census as AMELIA not IA, Harriet Amelia Hamilton born June 23, 1844 in Cambridge, Somerset County, Maine. Her parents were James Sumner Hamilton and Emilene Hooper-Hamilton. In 1850 she is living in Greenville, ME; 1860 she is working in a shoe factory in Waltham, MA; Her dad is remarried by 1865 in Wisconsin to Greenville, Maine native, Mehitable Jane Young. More then likely Harriet Amelia was living with her dad in Omro, WI by 1865 which is where Asahel Childs was living with his parents by 1860 having moved there from Vermont.

Harriet married Dr. Asahel Sherman Childs, son of Dennis Childs and Frances Angeline Straw, on 21 Dec 1865. (Dr. Asahel Sherman Childs was born on 6 May 1843 in Moretown, Washington County, Vermont, died on 21 Jun 1915 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois and was buried on 23 Jun 1915 in Graceland Cemetery.). The cause of his death was Mastoid abscess induced by "La Grippe"; paralysis.
