Death of Dr. R. R. Miller Roy Raymond Miller, oldest son of Ada Hawkins Miller and Dr. John William Miller was born at Dotham, Atchison County, Missouri, March 1st, 1883. During his early childhood, he lived at Diller, Nebraska where he became a member of the Presbyterian church and at the age of thirteen moved with his family to Mound City, Missouri. After attending the Mound City high school, he completed the course in medicine at the Ensworth Medical College at St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating in April 1906. On May 3, of the same year, he was united in marriage to Ethel Frances Goodpasture of Maitland,. Missouri. Dr Miller practiced for a short time at Hamlin, Kansas, and at Maitland and Lock Springs Missouri. In the year 1910, he became associated with his father, Dr. J. W. Miller, in the practice of medicine, later also in the Miller Pharmacy, and has been located here permanently with the exception of one year at Arkansas City, Kansas. After an illness of two and one-half months, he passed away at his home in Mound City, Missouri, Saturday, August 3, 1933. Two brothers preceded him in death; Dr Edgar Miller in 1915 and Dr. Max [Mayo] Miller in 1931. Surviving him, in addition to a host of friends, are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Miller, two sons, Nelson Miller of Tulsa Oklahoma, and Abe Miller of Mound City, and his parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Miller of Mound City. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. J. Jay Cokely in charge. Burial was made at the Mt. Hope cemetery.
