~0bit~Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Straw were held Sunday afternoon at the Four Square church in Independence. Mrs. Straw died at her home on Ninth avenue north-east Thursday morning, March 25, following an illness of three weeks. The daughter of John and Anna Barbara Funk, she was born January 3, 1885, in Adoline, Illinois. As a child she moved with the family to Buchanan county. On October 30, 1901, she was married to Delmar Samuel Solomon Straw. He died June 15, 1942. Mrs. Straw is survived by seven sons, Reo and Ranzie of Cedar Rapids, Roy, Raymond, Ralph R.
E, and Reuben of Independence; two daughters, Mrs. Ross Necker and Mrs. Ruth Blumenshine, both of Independence; 28 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 6 brothers and one sister. The Rev. Rose Hunter officiated at funeral services and burial in the Hoover cemetery near Quasqueton. Pallbearers were Emil Schwake, Richard Scott, Merle Ghere, Wilbur Ghere, Glenn Kirkendall and Ray Eddy. Mrs. Wayne Mason and Mrs. Emil Schwake assisted with the flowers. The Swan Funeral Home was in charge.

Rose married Delmar Samuel Solomon Straw, son of John Solomon Straw and Caroline Shuey, on 30 Oct 1901 in Quasqueton, Buchanan, Iowa, United States.
