DAVENPORT - Richard Lyle Jennett, 69, of Davenport died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus. Funeral services will be Monday, June 29, 2009, at 10 a.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Richard was born November 14, 1939, in Davenport, the son of Harley "Ray" and Myrtle (McDaniel) Jennett. He was united in marriage to Karyn Sylvia on April 28, 1988. in Ft Myers, Fla.
He worked as a divisional manager for Ryder Truck Rental in Waco, Texas, prior to his retirement. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He also had a great passion for cars and loved rebuilding and restoring all types. His garage was always open to his family and friends for visiting.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Karyn, Davenport; children, Lisa Gladfelter, Coal Valley, Ill., Joni Gulley, Lynn Center, Ill., Daniell Jennett, Moline, Chris Keturi, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Ray, Texas, Glen and Chuck, Davenport; sisters, Dorothy Willover, Karen Straw and Charlotte Schlunz, Dolores Glaspie, all of Davenport; and his beloved Beagle, Casey.
His parents, brothers, Otis, Steve and Alvin preceded him in death.
