DAVENPORT - Graveside services to celebrate the life of Glen D. Jennett Sr., 61, a resident of Davenport, will be 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Glen died Friday, August 13, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center-West Central Park, Davenport.
Glen Dwayne Jennett was born on March 1, 1949, in Davenport, a son of Harley R. and Myrtle (McDaniel) Jennett. He drove for about every cab company in the Quad Cities, which led to him earning the nickname "Chauffeur."
Glen was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan. He also enjoyed watching wrestling, listing to country music, especially Reba and Shania, smoking his pipe, sipping on Diet Pepsi, and playing solitaire on his computer.
He is survived by his children, Glen Jennett Jr., Hermitage, Tenn., Teresa Jennett, Davenport, Steve Jennett, Shreveport, La., and Valerie Jennett, Davenport; eight grandchildren; siblings, Chuck Jennett, Davenport, Kay Straw, Bettendorf, Ray Jennett, of Texas, Charlotte Schluenz, Davenport, Dort Willover, and Dee-Dee Glaspie, Davenport; and a favorite niece, Tiffy Glaspie. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Richard, Odie, Steven, and Alvin Jennett.
