Stephen Brian Straw, 55, of Snapps Mill Road, Spout Spring, died Thursday morning June 4, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Deborah Ayers Straw.
Steve was born in Madison,WI, September 11, 1959 a son of the late Patricia Tompkins and David Ernest Straw. He was retired from Lynchburg College as Network Administrator. After retirement he spent many hours working with his wife at her business, Prize Springers. Steve was very active in Monroe Masonic Lodge #301 A.F. & A.M. where he served in many offices including Past Worshipful Master and Past Worthy Matron of the Appomattox Chapter #10, Order of the Eastern Star
In addition to his wife Debbie, Steve is survived by a son, Matthew C. Cannon and wife, Kristin D. of Chicago, IL; a brother, Michael D. Straw and wife Catherine L. of Lynchburg; numerous nieces and nephews, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rodney and Virginia Ayers of Culpeper; sister-in-law, Cindy Parrish of Wilsons Mill, NC; brothers-in-law, Wayne Ayers and wife, Julie of Spotsylvania, Steve Ayers of Culpeper, Jim Ayers and wife, Pam of Manassas.
A memorial service was held 7pm Tuesday night June 9, 2015 at Robinson Funeral Home followed by Eastern Star and Masonic Rites. The family visited with friends immediately following the services and also at their residence at other times.
