PITTMAN, Mary Margaret
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Margaret Pittman announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on February 19, 2001 at the age of 87. Mrs. Pittman was a member of Exploits Valley Senior Citizens Club, Lifelong Learners Association and published author and poet. Mrs. Pittman retired from teaching in 1972. Predeceased by husband, Alphonsus and son, Keith. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons: Al of Corner Brook, Gordon (wife Teddy Ryan) of Torbay, Kenneth (wife Kathleen) of St. John's, Kevin of Grand Falls-Windsor and Brian of Little Rapids; daughters: Alice Dicks (husband Joseph) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Eileen Murphy (husband Robert) of Corner Brook. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Annie Follett of Placentia and Ellen (Nell) Leonard of Placentia, and brother, Edward Leonard of St. John's; friends, Marilee Pittman of Corner Brook and Kathleen Parewick of St. John's. Donations to Literacy Development Council of Newfoundland and Labrador, P. O. Box 8174, Stn. A, St. John's, NF A1B 3M9. Celebration of Mary's life to be held at Pasadena, Nfld., in June. Mary married Alphonsus Dominic Pittman, son of Martin Pittman and Elizabeth Murphy, on 10 Jul 1937 in St. Kyran's, Newfoundland. (Alphonsus Dominic Pittman was born on 2 Aug 1907 in Placentia, Newfoundland and died on 8 May 1978 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.)
