Walsh , Raymond Francis July 14, 1930 - June 15, 2020, Kelligrews, Conception Bay South
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts, that we , the family of Raymond Francis Walsh announce his peaceful passing one month prior to his 90th birthday. He passed away after a brief illness at the Health Sciences Center in the presence of his loving children on June 15, 2020.
He is predeceased by his parents , Elizabeth (Kieley) and Bernard Walsh; his wife Mary Margaret (nee Carroll ); and his siblings Michael, John, William, Dominic, Matthew , Bernardine and Katherine. He leaves to mourn his devoted children : Sheila Greene ( Charlie ); Sharon Niklas ( George ); Regina Baggs ( Derrick); Raymond Walsh ( Peg ) ; and Wade Walsh ( Mabel). His cherished grandchildren Ryan Walsh, Alexandra Greene , Riley Baggs , Kristan Walsh and Jamie Baggs.
He also leaves to mourn his one remaining sibling , Philip Walsh and a circle of nieces and nephews.
The family express deep gratitude to dad's dedicated home care workers, Joan , Mary and Amanda who enabled him to live in his own home for the past 16 months. Their love and dedication will be remembered by his children.
The family express their heartfelt thanks to the Stroke care team and the neurology/ medicine multidisciplinary staff at the HSC. We are very thankful to all the nursing staff who provided exceptional nursing care to our father during our limited presence at his hospital bedside due to Covid 19 restrictions.
We will remember dad for his wit and many wise statements especially " If you have nothing good to say about a person, then it is best to say nothing".
A private family funeral service is planned. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory can be made to the NL Heart and Stroke Foundation or the local SPCA.
