R. J Power researcher - Philip Power, father of Thomas, went to Oderin from Burin about 1840, with his mother (née Sheehan) and his brother Patrick. Their father, also named Philip, had died a few years earlier and their mother was remarried to a Mr. Fogarthy.

Notes for George Cirilus Power:
George died a bachelor, while his twin sister, Elizabeth, died shortly after birth.According to his nephew Joseph (of Joseph Power) George wanted to become a priest, but his father (Philip Sr.) wouldn't let him. Instead, George stayed in Oderin and taught school, which he apparently hated. George went "insane" later in life and died while living in the psychiatric hospital in St. John's, NF.
