ENNIS, JOSEPH S. The passing of Joseph S. Ennis of Fredericton, NB, husband of Ethel (Flynn) Ennis, occurred on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born on June 28, 1925 in Meracheen, Placentia Bay, NF, he was the son of the late Joseph and Stella (Best) Ennis. He was a Firefighter with Transport Canada. Joseph was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, travelling and boating. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his daughters, Linda Mockler (Jeffrey) of Fredericton, NB, Sharon White (Eric) and Yvonne Jursack (Gab) both of Vancouver, BC, Edwina Corey (Randy), Joanne Wyman (Peter), Marilyn Ennis- Cornford (Mark) all of Fredericton, NB and Wendy Blizzard (Tim) of Moncton, NB; sons, Gary Ennis (Shelly) of Halifax, NS, Brian Ennis (Joann), Joseph Ennis (Dan) and Terry Ennis (Carol) all of Vancouver, BC; 26 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Lake and Kathleen Pomeroy both of Placentia Bay, NF and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by brother, Leo and sister, Margaret. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 12 noon with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be grandsons, Adam Corey, Peter-Kyle Wyman, Chris Ennis, Ben Cornford, Shawn Blizzard and David Cornford. Interment will take place in St. Anthony's Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
