TRAVERSE, Michael E. - Passed peacefully away at Placentia Health Care Complex, in the presence of his loving family on April 16th, 2002, Michael (Micky) Traverse, age 84, of Ferndale. Predeceased by sister Gertrude. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret; seven daughters: Irene (John Barnett), Lillian (Jim Budden), Kathleen (Berk Mulrooney), Christina (Pats Mulrooney), Madonna (Gerard Ryan), Linda (Clarence Foley), Marilyn (Rick Greene); two sons: Edward (Josephine) and Kevin (Carme); sister Rita, brothers Pete and Tom; 28 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. As well, he leaves behind a large number of special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Aloysius Hynes and Ambrose McCarthy. Special gratitude to Marilyn and Doreen for the excellent home care, to the staff of Placentia Health Care Complex, Gill Pike of Community Health, and Father Jim Beresford. Resting at Maher`s Funeral Home, Placentia, 11 A.M. - 10 P.M. on Wednesday, April 17th and Thursday, April 18th, beginning at 10 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 18th, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. from Sacred Heart Church, Placentia. Interment at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery.

Michael married Mary Margaret Traverse, daughter of William Traverse and Margaret. (Mary Margaret Traverse was born in 1918 in Brewley, Newfoundland and died on 22 Nov 2009 in Lion's Manor Nursing Home, Placentia, Newfoundland.)
