Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family, on November 29, 1998 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, John T. Power, age 51, of Portugal Cove. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Pauline Power (nee O'Neill); two daughters; Sandra Peddle and husband Tony, Sherry and one son Keith. Predeceased by his parents; Carmel and Ambrose Power of North Harbour and sister-in-law Mable Wall of Goose Bay. Also leaving to mourn a large number of relatives; three brothers; Paddy (Eileen), Alban (Darlene) and Leo (Bernadette); six sisters; Violet Leonard (John), Hannah Greeley (Chris), Lucy Hawco (John), Delores Brewer (Ted), Agnes Power (Gerald) and Amanda Nash (Robert); four brothers-in-law; James O'Neill (Margaret), Patrick O'Neill (Merle), Joseph O'Neill (Yvonne) and Terry O'Neill (Lynda); six sisters-in-law; Marie Gosse (Austin), Jean Goodyear (Jeff), Nellie Smith (Walter), Janet Boland (David), Sandra Quinlan (Ed) and Sylvia Manuel (Gord); and many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Gardiner, Sister Ellen M. Sullivan, the Nursing Staff of the 6th floor east and Father Slattery for your kindness and support to our family during a very difficult time. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Mass at Basilica of St. John the Baptist, Tuesday, December 1, 1998 at 2 pm.. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
