MALONEY, James Furey - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, in the presence of his family, Saturday, March 28, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer, James Furey Maloney, age 72 years. Predeceased by father and mother, William and Gertrude Maloney, Harbour Main. In-laws Annie and Owen McCarthy, grandchildren John Carlos and Charlee Valerie. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of fifty-one years Ellen (Nellie) (nee McCarthy); sons: Charlie (Valerie), Don (Dorothy), Dave (Lee Ann), all of St. John's; daughter Rhonda (Scott Davidge), Gander; brother William and six precious grandchildren: Meghan Maloney, Brandon Maloney, Michael Maloney, Zachary, Jared and Ethan Davidge. Special thanks to his other family, The McCarthy's. Also a large circle of family and friends. Grateful thanks is extended to the nurses and staff of 4 North A of the Health Sciences Centre. A special thanks to Dr. Stewart Rorke, Dr. John Siddiqui, Dr. Adam Kosak and Dr. Patrick O'Shea. Rested at Dunphy's Funeral Home, Holyrood. Funeral Mass took place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2009 from Saints Peter and Paul Church, Harbour Main. Cremation followed. James married Ellen "Nellie" McCarthy, daughter of Eugene Owen McCarthy and Anne Rita "Annie" Parsons. (Ellen "Nellie" McCarthy was born in 1938 in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland.)
