Passed on: May 30th, 2012
Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in the presence of his loving family, Douglas Patrick Lake, aged 74 years. Predeceased by his parents William and Mary Lake; brother Dermot; wife Betty; step-daughter Jackie. Leaving to mourn his son: Dwayne (Jackie); daughters: Denise (Angus) Nichols; Danielle (Wayne) Walsh; grandchildren: Amy (Chris) Hussey, Shawn & Stephen Lake; Bradley & Stacey Nichols; brothers: Bill, Gerald, Ron, (Ontario) Brian (Vancouver); sisters: Marie (Florida) Bernadette, Bernice, Margie (Ontario); step-son Trevor King; step-daughter Arlene Hamilton. Also leaving a large circle of family & friends. A very special Thank-you to all the staff at Kelly's for making "Pop Day" such a wonderful memory. The family also wishes to say a special thanks to Dr. Laurie, staff of Murphy's Personal Home Care (St Philips) and the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Center. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, May 31st from 2-4 & 7-9 and Friday, June 1st from 10-12, 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place from Mary Queen of the World Church on Saturday, June 2nd at 9:30 am with cremation to follow. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Topsail Road at a later date. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Doug's memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
