DEVEREAUX, Vincent Joseph The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, October 4, 2008 DEVEREAUX, Vincent Joseph - 75, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2008, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Marystown, N.L., he was a son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Molloy) Devereaux. Vince spent over 40 years as a taxi driver in Halifax. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn (John), Upper Tantallon; sons, Terry and Vincent Jr., Halifax; brothers, Hugh, Halifax; Eugene, Newfoundland; George and Clarence, Ontario; sisters, Isabelle, Mary-Ann, Hilda, Ida and Cathy, Newfoundland; grandchildren, John and Teryn. He will also be especially missed by niece, Fay and family. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean; sister, Leona; brothers, Junior and Eddie. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. Burial to take place in Newfoundland at a later date. Donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
Vincent married Jean Elizabeth Pittman, daughter of Ralph Pittman and Susanne Cox. (Jean Elizabeth Pittman was born in 1940 in Little Bay East, Newfoundland, died on 6 Nov 2006 in Melville Lodge - Halifax, Nova Scotia and was buried in Cremains.)
