It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Whalen announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Monday, June 5th, 2000, at the age of 66 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Annie; two sons; Gerard (Bernice) Whalen and Michael (Susan) Whalen, all of Stephenville; two daughters; Margaret (Barry) Phillips, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Bernadette (Mark) O'Driscoll, St. John's; two brothers; Patrick (Marguerite) Whalen, Pasadena, Joe (Ursula) Whalen, St. John's; one sister Helen (Hubert) Kendall, Ship Cove; 11 grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Harold Whalen and his sister Josie Carey. Funeral Services took place from St. Stephen's Parish, West Street, Stephenville on June 7th, 2000, with interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
