HAWKYE ;Special):~— Emma Jean Phillips was -born August 27,1892 in'.Filimore County, Prosper, Minn. She was the daughter of Oscar and Bell (Rollins) Phillips.
She attended schools in that area and later taught school. On March 6, 1917 she was.united in
marriage to Wilson William. Stedman at Prosper, Minn.
They had five children. She is survived by two daughters,Mrs. Gene Mabb, Evansdale,
Mrs. EarJ Straw, Lawlcr; two sons,William, Johnson City, Tenn.;Roger, Cedar Falls; a step-son,
Guy Stedman, Evansdale and scveral-grandchildren.
her death took place Sunday afternoon at 5:45 p.m. on March 7. She had suffered a stroke earlier in the day.
Pallbearers were Gene Mabb, Earl Straw, Edward Straw and David Straw. Interment was in the Alpha Cemetery.
Emma married Wilson William Stedman, son of Samuel Stedman and Betsey Jane Pratt, on 6 Mar 1917 in Prosper, Fillmore County, Minnesota. (Wilson William Stedman was born on 17 May 1860 in Waukon, Allamakee County, Iowa, died on 3 Aug 1930 in Fredericksburg, Chickasaw County, Iowa and was buried in Alpha Iowa Cemetery in Alpha Iowa.)
