General Notes:
Research of John Burbank <jbrbnk@wcvt.com> - John was unmarried. If he was living in 1692 then he was the John in the Rowley witch case. The only other John's at that date were John2,and his son, John3, of Suffield CT. From the court record it is known that John Burbank appeared as a witness in the witch trial of Margaret Scott, maiden lady, and testified that he saw her in a neighbor's field gleaning corn, and the next day when the farmer tried to haul in the corn his oxen went backwards, but on the day after he tried it again, and the oxen went all right. The court decided against Miss Scott and she was hung as Rowley's only serious witch case.
