Private in the War of 1812 in the Battle of Plattsburgh, Se ptember 1814, in Captain Lewis Torrence's Company, unregime nted Battalion of the 40th Brigade of New York State Militi a Commanded by Major Reuben Sanford. He is buried in the U pper Jay Cemetery in an unmarked grave. See: "Wilmington o f the Adirondacks - a brief history by Oliver W Winch (2n d ed), 1974, pgs. 33-35. Mary McKenzie, Lake Placid Histo rian letters say Nathan went from Vermont to Canada East be fore coming to Wilmington. He first appears on the Wilming ton census of 1820
Burial: Upper Jay Cemetery in an unmarked grage in Upper Ja y, NY. Christened: 1861.
