Becker, Barbara A. CASTLETON Barbara A. Becker, age 71, of Castleton died on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at home.
Barbara was born in Albany, the daughter of Rudolph and Vera Yeates. Barb was a 1960 graduate of Van Rensselaer High School and retired after 25 years as a bus driver for Rensselaer County BOCES. Barb known as "Ma" to all. She loved playing video games, and mahjong, she was an avid bowler, horseshoe player and golfer. She enjoyed doing crafts, quilting and ceramics and enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends through the Yankee Doodle chapter of NCHA. Barb was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Van Rensselaer Chapter 256 and also an active member of the Greenbush Reformed Church.
Ma will be sadly missed by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Brian A. Becker; three daughters, Beth (Paul) Clark, Bonnie Becker (Dan Guay), and Brenda (Dave) Dearstyne; and son, Barton (Michelle) Becker. Proud grandmother of Shaun and Sarah Clark, Michael Becker, Brittany and Mark Dearstyne; and great-grandmother of Benjamin Clark and Abigail Ackerley; sister of the late Rudolph (Jerilyn) and Ronald Yeates and James (Cindy) Scott.
Funeral from the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home. Interment is in Blooming Grove Cemetery. The family has requested that those who wish make memorial contributions in her name to the Greenbush Reformed Church, 688 Columbia Tpk., East Greenbush, NY 12061.
