General Notes:
Research of R. Courser on www.rootsweb.com "George came to America in 1620 with his wife Lucinda Davenport on the 'Mayflower'as a 'Ship's Carpenter'. He located with the pilgrims at Plymouth, Mass., and his wife was one of the forty-one who died the following winter and early spring. A few years later he settled in Ipswich, and from there moved with the first settlers of Cloechester (Salisbury), Mass. He was granted an island in the Merrimac River for home and purposes of a shipyard and it was called 'Carr's Island'. The island was home for the Carrs for a number of generations and the possession of this island gave the family the monopoly of the ferrying business across the river. The large house on Carr's Island was destroyed by fire, May 9, 1797. Two of the family were drowned while attending the ferry."
George married Elizabeth Oliver in 1641 in Massachusetts. (Elizabeth Oliver was born on 12 Apr 1624 in Bristol, Gloucaster, England, died on 6 May 1691 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts and was buried in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.)
George next married Lucinda Davenport before 1620. (Lucinda Davenport was born circa 1600 in England and died circa 1620 in Plymouth, Massachusetts.)
