"She was under 18 in 1748 (father's will)
John Dyer's daughter, LYDIA, who was unmarried when he wrote his Last Will & Testament, is now a married lady and has just received her dowry/legacy. Yes, she was a bit young to be married, having been born to Rebecca Jones Dyer on 16 May 1733. I found doing a search on the NEHGS website that she was indeed married to "Gaius" (perhaps a mis-transcription - or perhaps that was the original name instead of "Gain") Robinson, on March 30, 1749, in the Episcopal Church of St. Michael's in Bristol. You might notice that this is some 5 months after the date of 1st November 1748 listed on the Administration when she was called LYDIA ROBINSON. However, at the end of the Administration (with the list of the distribution of the assets), Mr. Shearja. Bourn, Exec(utor) signs and dates it: Bristol Janru. 24th 1755. So, although he starts out with the 1748 date, before he has finished all the disbursements, it is 1755, and Lydia is well and truly married.
