CARL W. HINES UPPER SANDUSKY Funeral services for Carl W. Hines, 83, for-merly of North Fourth Street, Up-per Sandusky, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, the Rev. Jerry Elsholz officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Hines died at 10:15 a.m. Sat-urday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Wyandot Manor Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky, where he had been re-siding the last few months.
He was born Oct. 21, 1915, in Hardin County to Max and Eunice (Straw) Hines. He married Loloma McDannel on Aug. 8, 1938, in Maysville, Ky., and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis of Ney, David of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. Stephan (Judy) Reiser, Oregon City, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Maurice (Pauline) Smith, Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul; and a sister, Vergene Thompson.
Mr. Hines retired in 1982 after working more than 40 years as a machinist for Worthington Indus-tries. He also owned and operated H&M Novelty in Upper Sandusky and surrounding towns prior to his retirement. After he retired, he owned and operated Hines Saw Sharpening.
Mr. Hines was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky for more than 70 years.
He was a member of Warpole Lodge 176 F&AM and Bud's Social Club, both of Upper Sandusky, and a life member of Elks Lodge 83, Upper Sandusky.
Memorials may be made to the church, to Warpole Lodge 176 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
