Was buried not in Clinton where they had lived, but closer to her family in Peculiar. Her father's stone is also there but I'm unsure of the proximity, one to the other. Mrs. Mary Pearl Steyer Straw died on October 12, 1907 at Raton, New Mexico. She was buried at Peculiar, Mo., on October 16, 1907. The deceased was born on April 12, 1883 and was converted and united with the cumberland Presbyterian church at Peculiar when about sixteen years old. She lived a useful consistent christian life. She was married to Mr. Harry Straw, of Clinton, Mo., on June 1, 1905 and this husband with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Steyer, two brothers and four sisters survives to mourn her death. The deceased had a host of friends in Cass county who extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
