Helen or Nellie, eldest daughter of Philip and Louisa Scheerer Beyer, was born in the town of Croghan and married Michael Foley, October 5, 1877.
He being a son of Daniel and Catherine Carroll Foley, was born March 17, 1852, in Canada. For a time he was a laborer in the well- known VanAmber mills. He was the proprietor of a shoe-shop lo>-cated near the present Evangelical church of Naumburg. For a few years, he managed a canal boat from Carthage to Albany. He then worked in a sawmill and later moved his family to Whitesboro where he again found employment in a mill. He still resides at the home in Whitesboro. To this union ten children were born as follows:
