Note: " Edward Lyon was the father of Daniel Lyon, and grandfather of Marian Straw [Lyon], wife of John Johnson, son of Asa Johnson, son of John Johnson. He served under Captain Martin and Colonel Stark. At the age of 75, he applied for a pension on Sept 13, 1830 , Windsor County, Vermont which was allowed. "

17 Aug 1838 Edward Lyon age 81 a resident of Plymouth, Windsor County, VT ...a Revolutionary War Pensioner...brother to Jonathan Lyon formerly of Amherst, Hillsborough, NH..he and his brother Jonathan enlisted first part of April 1776 in Capt Clements Company in Col John Gilman's regiment for nine months and from there he and Jonathan marched to Portsmouth NH and there joined the regiment and did military duty until the time was out and he and Jonathan were dismissed and returned home.
Further mention is made of Jonathan with wife Lucy and son Wm R. Lyon of Pelham, NH who is applying for his father's pension

Edward married Meriam Straw, daughter of William Straw and Mehitable Currier, on 7 Dec 1780 in Amherst, new Hampshire. (Meriam Straw was born circa 1760, died on 22 May 1828 and was buried in Plymouth Five Corners Cemetery in Windsor County, Vermont.)
