CALEDONIA - Anna Catherine (Medley) Paxton, age 80, of Caledonia, Ohio, passed away on Saturday morning, March 18, 2006, in Marion General Hospital.
She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on Feb. 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Lafayette B. and Jane Frances (Fraley) Medley
On Sept. 4, 1942, she married Russell Paxton. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1993.
Anna was a homemaker and had worked at Power Equipment Co. in Galion for 10 years. She loved classic country and gospel music. She played (by ear) the guitar, mouth harp, organ and piano until health prevented her from doing so. She also loved to play bingo.
Anna is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Dannie) Straw of Caledonia and Linda Carmon of Marion. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Hurley Hicks Jr. of Marion; two sisters, Margaret Nichols of Urbana and Rosie (Gilbert) Timmons of Crestline; eight grandchildren, John Straw, Pam Steiner, Paula Hall, Jason Colby, Kelly (Robin) Hicks, Lori (Robert) Hall, all of Marion, Jack Straw of Caledonia, Shelley Beckel of Mount Gilead; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Hicks, one sister and seven brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Kenneth Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m.

Anna married Russell Paxton on 4 Sep 1942. (Russell Paxton died on 5 May 1992.)
