Published in the Post-Star from 6/22/2005 - 6/25/2005. Frazier, Maurice R. Queensbury -- Maurice R. Frazier, 76, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Eden Park Nursing Home, Glens Falls, after along illness. Born in Chestertown, on Jan. 1, 1929, he was the son of the late Leonard and Cordelia (Culver) Frazier. After graduating from Chestertown Central School and the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in Boston, Maurice started his career in banking at the Chester Schroon Horicon Bank in Chestertown. In 1961, he accepted the position of manager of the Bolton branch of 1st National Bank of Glens Falls; later he was promoted to assistant vice president. He moved to the main office in Glens Falls, where he was a loan officer and later managed the Bank's Operations Center. Over the years, Maurice served as school clerk for the Chestertown Central School; was active in the Glendale Masonic Lodge of Pottersville, and the Boy Scouts of America, and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chestertown, then Bolton Landing, and most recently of the Queensbury United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved golfing, watching sports, especially the New York Yankees and Boston Celtics. He took great pride in caring for his home and lawns. During the last years of his life, Maurice missed not having the ability to talk with the many friends and business acquaintances he made over the years and his wry wit will be missed. Maurice will be remembered as a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He was predeceased by one brother, Donald Frazier, and one sister, Ellen Picinich. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patricia Campanaro Frazier of Queensbury, whom he married on July 1, 1948; one son, Darryl Frazier and his wife, Terri, of Warrensburg; one daughter, Maureen Frazier of Albany; two grandsons, Gabriel Frazier and his wife, Laura, of Queensbury, and David Frazier of Saratoga Springs; one granddaughter, Rebecca Frazier of Glens Falls; two great-grandchildren, Michaela Frazier of Queensbury and Olivia Frazier-Lee of Glens Falls; one brother, Hulbert Frazier and his wife, Thelma, of Warrensburg; two sisters, Blanche Farrell of Indian Lake and Anne Moore of Prince Frederick, Md., one brother-in-law, Andy Campanaro of Deltona, Fla., one sister-in-law, Mildred Frazier of Chestertown; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Chestertown Community United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rich Weihing and the Rev. David Adams officiating. Interment will be at Brant Lake Cemetery, Brant Lake. At Maurice's request visiting hours are private for family and friends.
