Bernice B. Buchheit (Mrs. Ron), age 69, of Festina, Iowa, died on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, following a long illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina, with Monsignor Cletus Hawes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Our Lady of Seven Dolors Parish Center in Festina. There will be a Foresters Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Bernice's survivors include her husband, Ronald Buchheit, Festina; her mother: Eleanor Huber, Davenport; two sisters: Irene (Jim) Leuenberger, Shawano, WI; and Karen Straw, Lawler; four brothers: Gerald Huber, Davenport; Leo (Jane) Huber, Davenport, IA; Merle (Carole) Huber, Nevada, MO; and David (Cynthia) Huber, St. Paul, MN. Two sisters-in-law: Dianne (Philip) French, Calmar, IA and Anna Mae (Donald) Davis, Ridgeway, IA. One brother-in-law: Kevin (Nancy) Buchheit, Festina, IA and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Three Aunts: Minnie Kuehner, New Hampton, IA; Leona Croatt, St. Lucas, IA; Catherine Foreman, St. Lucas, IA and Rose Crogveek, Oelwein. Bernice was preceded in death by her father: Philip Huber on May 7, 1984. One brother-in-law: Ed Straw. One nephew: Dale Huber.
