"Ellen Hepditch is my grandmother. She and Maggie made many trips "over the hills" from Clattice NW to St. Kyran's to visit Aunt Kate Connors who was their half-sister. They moved to Southern Hr in 1966 and built a house next to ours. Maggie died in a seniors home in the Goulds in 1976 and Grandma died at Lion's Manor in Placentia in 1989 at the age of 98. She lived alone in her house in Southern Hr until 1985 and continued to walk up the harbour to visit friends until she broke her hip at the age of 94."
Ellen married James Hepditch, son of John Hepditch and Bridget Coffey, on 24 Nov 1913 in St. Kyran's, Placentia Bay in Newfoundland. (James Hepditch was born on 8 Dec 1880 in Clattice Harbor, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, died on 13 Feb 1936 in Clattice Harbor, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland and was buried in Clattice Harbor SW Cemetery - Newfoundland.)
