My great great grandmother was a Ricker...her grandmother was a Straw.....so I can only assume that he is related somehow...

Hi, don't know much about my Straws. The first place I can put them is in Vermont around 1829 or so. Mary & Moses got married that year. Then Mary Straw & Moses Ricker moved to OHIO. The picture I have of J.A. Straw is not that old. The picture says on the back..."was taken in Florida when I was in the service of uncle sam".

I don't all that much about my Staws except that Moses Ricker married Mary Straw at Waterbury, Vermont in 1829 & then in 1830 they moved to Wyandot County, OH....Mary Straw died in Lowell, Indiana in 1873 ....these are the parents of Lewis Straw Ricker who is the father to Mary Ann Ricker my great great grandmother... I have a couple of pictures of some Straws... one is a baby picture of an Irene Straw & the other is J.A. Straw...he's in the service & he says on the back that the picture was taken in Florida...... Mary married Moses Ricker, son of Joseph Ricker and Dorothy Varney, on 8 Feb 1829 in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont. (Moses Ricker was born circa 1800 in York County, Maine, died in Nov 1835 and was buried in Bowsherville Cemetery in Wyandot County, Ohio.)
