Christina b. May 26, 1813, d. Aug. 21, 1898. m. Jason Straw. Christina was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, and was one of the family of Peter Harpster and Elizabeth (Bowsher) Harpster, who were among the first settlers of Allen County. Christina was married to Jason Straw at Bowsherville about 1835 and in 1851 the husband and father died in the prime of life. The following year the mother moved the family to Allen County and lived at **West Cairo until 1869. At that time Christina and the two sons,Isaac and Charles, with their families, moved to Henry County, Missouri, locating about twelve miles south of Clinton. Here Mrs. Straw passed her last years. She survived to the age of eighty-five in the midst of her people. She was buried in Chappell Cemetery,near Clinton, Missouri.

MY NOTES:
I also figured out why Christine chose West Cairo after the death of her husband. She had family there…namely at least two brothers and her widowed brother in law [James McCain] who married Eva Harpster, Christine's sister.
I scanned all 39 pages of that Monroe (West Cairo) census and could not find Christine.[Addenda: 160423 -She has remarried to Jerome Curtis] She had at that time a daughter Elizabeth who did not marry until 1874 and another daughter Jane who married Josiah Simons in 1859 and a third daughter Mary Ann who married after the 1860 census but I have not been able to find any of them in 1860 either.
By 1870 (census) Christine is living in Osage, Henry County, MO with a13 yr old female Mary Straw and they are in household of Christine's son Isaac Newton Straw.
Charles with wife and dau are also in Osage in 1870. Is the Mary listed after entry for Christine and not listed under Isaac's children the Amanda Straw in West Cairo census of 1860? She would be about this age.
