Bartlesville Examiner Enterprise, Sunday, September 12, 1999:
Mrs. Lillie O. Straw, 91, resident of Nowata, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Nowata Nursing home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Mt. Washington Cemetery at Lenapah with the Rev. LaVern Draper officiating. Graveside services and Interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Nowata Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established to: 10-33 Emergency Team, 321 E. Cherokee, Nowata, 74048.
Mrs. Straw was born Jan. 27, 1908 to John G. and Ella (Hunt) Inman. She was raised and educated in the Nowata area. She married Homer L. Straw on Jan. 29, 1929 at Delaware and they made their home on the South Fork of the Double Creek from 1929 to 1979. She was active with her husband in farming and ranching. Mrs. Straw was a member of the First Christian Church of Nowata.
Mrs. Straw is survived by three son, Harry Straw of Lenapah, Don Straw of Nowata and Jim Straw of Bartlesville; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 18, 1997; six brothers, Louis, Oscar, Jim, Clarence, Claude, Ernest and J. Wood Inman; two sisters, Phoebe McCall and Elsie Gambell.
