Mrs. Frank A. Ostwald, 56. of Spring and Mountain View Aves died Wed afternoon [18 Aug at the Leonard Hospital after a short illness. The former Katherine C. Hart, she was born in Germany but had lived in this country since she was three years old. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence's Church. The survivors include her husband, Frank A. Ostwald; her mother, Mrs. John L. Hart of Troy; eight sons, John J., Frank W., George P., Joseph H., Leo M., Lawrence J. and Gerald F. Ostwald, all of Troy, and Pvt. Carl J. Ostwald, Army Air Corps; four daughters, Misses Bertha A. and Gertrude D. Ostwald, Mrs. Joseph Pertruska and Mrs. John Dorfner. all of Troy; three sisters, Mrs. John Rohleder [Margaret] of Loudonville, Mrs. Carl Whittman [Barbara] of Watervliet and Miss Anna May Hart of Troy, and five brothers, Joseph, Peter, Edward, Leo and George Hart of Troy. The funeral will be conducted from the residence at 8:45 a.m. tomorrow and at 9:30 from St. Lawrence's Church where a high mass of requiem will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery

Katherine married Frank August Ostwald, son of Ostwald and Unknown, on 17 Aug 1908 in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York. (Frank August Ostwald was born on 28 Jun 1883 in Gelsenkirchen in Ruhr Basin, Germany, died on 11 Jun 1957 in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy, New York.)
