bullet  General Notes:

In the transcriptions for Newfoundland Census 1921 hosted by Infonet there is listed for "Clattis Harbor" the family of Timothy Connors. His place of birth is listed as Davis Cove and his brother's (Thomas) place of birth listed as Grandy's Point.
per 1921 Census of "Clattis Harbor" Timothy is listed as head of household, born October 1876 in Davis Cove and now age 45. (A. F. O'Connor claims he was born in" Granny's Point."..Grandy's Point? [Grandy Point, PB Resettled to St. Kyrans & Clattice Hr per NLgenweb "place names changed or resettled"] His brother Thomas lists his place of birth as Grandy's Point.)Davis Cove is north of Clattice Harbor on the coast line of the western side of Placentia Bay. It is accessible by road now.
There is a wife Margaret born November 1875 in John de Bay/Jean de Baie. (St. Mary's Church records, Placentia, NFLD obtained in 1980 say she was born in Spanish Room which is very proximal to John de Bay..about 2-4 miles away and near Marystown on the lower end of the Burin Peninsula.) In 1921 she was shown to be 46 yrs old. (She was his second wife..his first being Jane Ann Brewar/Brewer by whom he had 3 sons...Michael, Thomas Vincent and Anthony.) Listed as members of this family at the time were the following: Michael , a son, born October 1903 in Clattice Harbor and now 18 and single; T. V (Thomas Vincent) another son born December 1904 in Clattice Harbor and now 17 years of age; Anthony a third son born September 1905 and now 16 years of age and a fourth son Leo Pius born September 1913 and 8 years of age; an adopted daughter named Bridget Hynes born July 1913 and a step daughter named Mary Coady born July 1911 now 10 years old.
Leo Pius was the son of Margaret and Timothy and half brother to Michael, Vincent and Anthony, sharing a common father and half brother to Mary Coady as they shared a common mother. Mary Coady was Margaret's daughter born to her when she was married to a Mr Cody/ Coady and step sister to Michael, Vincent and Anthony but half sister to Leo Pius.
Bridget was a girl they took in but I do not have any background on her or who her parents were..families often took in and raised children that were not their own.The census indicates she is adopted but A. F. O'Connor claims his father never adopted her.
Thomas Vincent was not actually living in the household as after the death of his mother (Jane Brewer) in 1910 he was adopted by a family named Grunther/Gunther. This name does not appear in the Census of 1921 for Clattice Harbor.
Michael who had gone to his maternal grandparents (Brewer) with the death of his mother had returned home and was living there in 1921.
Anthony was sent to live with his paternal grandparents (Timothy and Agnes Bollard O'Connor) with the death of his mother and then c 1915 with the death of his grandmother "Connors" he went to live with the local priest (Rev. A. Fyme) and remained with him until he left Newfoundland for good in 1928 to relocate in New York City.
Bridget (Bridie) grew up and married a John Greene and they continued to live in the family's homestead. It was not the original house built and located in Clattice Harbor but the structure was rebuilt from the lumber salvaged when the settlement of Clattice Harbor was ordered by the government to relocate across Placentia Bay. The government could not provide medical care or postal service to many of the remote areas of the Western section of Placentia Bay. The lumber and materials were moved to Long Harbor and rebuilt there. See the following site for relocation http://www.mun.ca/mha/resettlement/index.html

Mary Coady , one of three sisters (Josephine and Ellen), grew up and married Daniel Bruce and they had a large family. Three of their daughters (Beth Smith, Rose O'Neill and Jean Hebert) married Americans and settled in Rensselaer, Albany and Troy, New York areas.
