Hague — Bernard E. (Buck) Denno, 74, of Hague, passed away Friday, May 11, 2001, at the Fletcher Allen Hospital of Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Bolton Landing on Jan. 30, 1927, the son of Ralph and Mabel (Rock) Denno.
Buck lived his entire life in Hague. He attended Hague Central School and married Anna Nora Robbins on May 6, 1944.
He worked at Pudding Island Farm in Hague as a farm hand until around 1950, when he started work at International Paper in Ticonderoga, retiring in 1969 due to a disability. He has spent the last three decades caring for his family and sharing his unmatchable wit with all.
Buck was a communicant of the Blessed Sacrament Church of Hague and was active as a Eucharistic minister. He loved to hunt, fish, feed the birds, garden, repair small engines and tell tales - tall and true.
He was predeceased by two sons, Joseph J. Denno in 1987 and Robert A. Denno in 1997; and his sister, Beatrice (Denno) Middleton in 1997.
Buck is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna (Robbins) Denno of Hague; four sons, Bernard R. (Two Buck) Denno and Ralph H. Denno, both of Hague, Peter B. Denno of Springtown, Texas, and Thomas J. Denno of Ticonderoga; nine daughters, Barbara L. Tyler of Anne Maria, Fla., Pamela A. Denno of Petersburg, N.Y., Deborah J. Reid and Michele M. Gautreau, both of Hague, Marie A. Dove of Bradenton, Fla., Theresa M. Gagliardi of Glens Falls, Mary Anna Osier and Bernadette A. Denno, both of Ticonderoga and Maureen M. Germain of Middlebury, Vt. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 20 plus great-grandchildren; and his brother, James R. Denno of Lake Katrine, N.Y.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 33 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church of Hague. The Rev. George Fleming, pastor, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow at the family plot of the Old Hague Cemetery of Hague.
