Mrs. Jennie D. Straw, 76, of the Straw Road, died at a local nursing home Tuesday after a long illness.
She was born Aug 12 1898 in South Portland, the d/o George and Ethel Libby Deering. She was educated in local schools.
Mrs. Straw was a fifty year member of the North Scarborough Grange and a member of the Ladies Aid of the South Buxton-West Scarborough Universalist Church.
Besides her husband Robert A. Straw, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ethel F. Rowe of West Buxton; a son Mahlon R. Straw of Gorham; two brothers Carl and Albert Deering, both of Buxton; four sisters: Mrs Helen Libby of Scarborough; Mrs. Ruth Wescott of Westbrook; Mrs. Ada Grant of Springvale and Mrs Lida Junkins of Buxton; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grand children and several neices and nephews.
