"Yesterday afternoon Alica M. wife of H. B. Straw died at her home in this city after long years of suffering from bone cancer. The deceased was born 3 Nov 1837 at Montreal, Canada. She was the mother of twelve children, eight of whom survive her. They were all at her bedside at the time of her death. The deceased was a great sufferer but always bore the pain with great fortitude. The funeral will take place from the family residence tomorrow afternoon. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in the loss of one so dear to them."
