Journal and Courier 11 Feb 2006 Howard M. Straw 86, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2006. He retired in 1958 from the U.S. Army after 21 years of active service, including WWII and the Korean War. Howard then worked as a Molding Press Operator for Western Electric for 22 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge #17 and the American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday, February 12 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 E. Washington St., with a funeral mass Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Howard is survived by his wife, Carol J. Straw. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maria E. Straw; and son, John C. Straw. He is also survived by his children, Howard M. Straw Jr. (Sharon), Jack W. Straw (Theresa), Linda S. Straw; 4 stepsons, 1 step-daughter, 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
